CommBank ParaMatildas Squad Announcement for Sydney Training Camp

Preparations for the 2024 IFCPF Women’s World Cup Spain continue as the CommBank ParaMatildas assemble for a 3-day training camp running from April 12 – 14 at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney.

CommBank ParaMatildas’ Head Coach Kelly Stirton has selected an exciting 14-player squad for the camp including the return of dynamic defender Rae Anderson (Northern NSW Football) after missing the February camp, and talented midfielder Indiana Cooper (Football NSW).

2022 IFCPF World Cup Golden Boot Winner, Georgia Beikoff (Football NSW), and sharpshooter Annmarie De Uriarte (Football NSW) add a wealth of experience and class to the squad.

Alongside the experienced players, 14-year-old midfielder Lilah Flood (Northern NSW Football) enters for her first CommBank ParaMatildas’ training camp together with 16-year-old Trinity McPhie (Football QLD) and 21-year-old Rebecca Jones (Capital Football) who are vying to earn their first National Team Cap.

With players based in different states and territories and few opportunities to train together as a squad, this training camp serves as an important step of the final selection process for the 2024 IFCPF Women’s World Cup in Spain in November.

Kelly Stirton expressed her excitement about getting the squad back together and continuing the journey towards the World Cup.

“I'm excited to be able to bring together 14 talented female footballers from across the country to continue our path towards the World Cup at the end of the year,” Stirton said.

"With the return of seasoned players like Rae (Anderson) and the addition of fresh talents like Lilah (Flood), our squad is a perfect blend of experience and youthful energy. As we gear up for the World Cup, each training camp becomes more crucial in honing our strengths and identifying areas for improvement.

“The purpose of all our training camps this year has been to assemble the strongest squad possible, using every moment in camp is an opportunity for the players to prove themselves and earn a place in the final squad for the World Cup.”

Stirton also expressed the importance building on the teams’ success in 2023 and continuing to improve in 2024 and beyond.

"With each passing year, we raise the bar higher. The success of 2023 keeps pushing us forward and drives the squad to reach new milestones, and new opportunities to showcase what the CommBank ParaMatildas are capable of,” Stirton explained.

“Since our inception over two years ago, we have seen tremendous growth in our players, and in our ability to empower girls living with disabilities. This camp is another step towards making our mark on the CP Football landscape and preparing this team for the successes of the future, on and off the pitch,” Stirton concluded.
